Yellow Cottage Renovation

The renovation of the exterior of the last remaining wooden structure of the Rhode Island State Home and School is now completed. A construction contract for renovation of the exterior of the Yellow Cottage on the East Campus was awarded to Tower Construction Corp. of Cranston. The cost for this phase of the project was over $300,000. In addition, all interior asbestos and lead was abated, in preparation for interior renovation. Funding for the project was provided by grants from the Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission and through an appropriation secured by Rhode Island's Congressional Delegation.
