B.A. Modern Languages/Concentration in Portuguese Studies
The Concentration in Portuguese Studies consists of 45-50 credit hours, starting in PORT 201, 202, and followed by 36-39 credit hours of additional courses in Portuguese at the 300-level or above, 6-8 credits in another language and the Modern Languages Seminar.
B.A. Modern Languages / Concentration in Latin American Studies
The Concentration in Latin American Studies consists of 40-43 credit hours, 15-16 of which must be completed in the Portuguese Studies Program starting in PORT 201, 202, and followed by 7-8 credit hours of additional courses in Portuguese at the 300-level or above.
Minor in Portuguese
The minor in Portuguese consists of 18-20 credit hours, as follows: PORT 201, 202, and 9-12 credit hours of additional courses in Portuguese at the 300-level or above.
Dual Programs with FSEHD [Feinstein School of Education and Human Development]
World Languages Education B.A./Concentration in Portuguese: Along with completing required courses in FSEHD, students electing a concentration in Portuguese must complete the following courses with a minimum grade point average of 3.00: PORT 201, 202, 301, 302, 304, 305, 420, MLAN 360, MLAN 400, and two additional courses in Portuguese at the 300 level or above; plus two courses in another language for a total of 47-49 credit hours.
World Languages Education M.A.T./Portuguese: Required courses in FSEHD in Foundations, Professional Education and Pedagogy plus fifteen credit hours of courses at the graduate level in Portuguese for a total of 51 credit hours.

Political Science Department: International Nongovernmental Organizations Studies (INGOS): Certificate OR Minor: 4 elective credits in Portuguese (PORT 304 or PORT 305).
Biology Department: Premedical, Predental, Preoptometry, Preveterinary Preparation. "It is strongly recommended that students take intermediate or advanced courses in modern foreign languages."
