More than two dozen alumni attended the Rhode Island College Alumni Association's recent information session to learn about the many volunteer opportunities available.
"It was a very successful event," said Kate Brezina, executive director of alumni affairs. "It was a great way for our alumni to reconnect and find out ways to get involved with our alumni association."
The information session, held Feb. 5 in the Alumni Lounge at Roberts Hall, was designed to recruit new volunteers and showcase the many opportunities available.
The Rhode Island College Alumni Association hosts a variety of events throughout the region. Last year's events attracted more than 1,500 alumni. Brezina said the association is hoping to increase the number of events – and participation – this coming year.
Volunteers are needed for the Board of Directors, Alumni Communications Committee, Alumni Awards Committee, Book Awards Committee, Alumni Association Golf Tournament Committee, Scholarship Committee, RICochet Committe, Alumni Donor Outreach Committee, Homecoming Committee and Young Alumni Group.
"If you weren't able to make the meeting," Brezina said, "you can schedule a time to meet with our staff to learn about ways to get involved by calling 401-456-8086."
