BackgroundKara Lund received her Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from Arizona State University, and her B.A. in voice from the University of Rhode Island. She teaches private voice instruction at the Music School, Rhode Island College and at home. Kara also teaches performance workshops at RIC as well as through the Learning Connection. Equally at home on the opera as well as recital stage Miss Lund has performed the roles of Countess Almaviva, Marenka, Micaela, the Merry Widow, the Sandman and Giuletta among others. She performs regularly with Opera Providence in their children’s outreach program “Operatunity”. Concert repertoire has included Haydn, Bach, Copland and Tippett.
Kara has collaborated with groups throughout the area and is a soloist with the Central Congregational Church Choir. While in Arizona, she was a Regional National Society of Arts and Letters Competition winner.
Currently she is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda and the RI chapter of NATS.
