Become a L4L Scholar
If you are interested in becoming a Learning for Life scholar please fill out this application and return it to the L4L office.
Referrals and Qualifiers
According to Merriam-Webster, scholarship is defined as "the character, qualities, activity, or attainments of a scholar", L4L considers all RIC students to be scholars. However, some students encounter uncommon challenges on their academic journey. L4L seeks to recognize the extraordinary scholarship of those RIC scholars who meet and overcome the obstacles they encounter in achieving their academic goals and earning a college degree.
Learning for Life is open to all entering and enrolled students at RIC who encounter life circumstances that challenge their ability to complete college. Please contact the L4L office for details regarding project criteria.
Additionally, all former or current participants in the PEP, Bridges, Upward Bound, College Crusade, College Visions, or similar college preparatory programs are eligible. If you're interested in learning more about the program or signing up, stop by or give us a call or visit us in the Unity Center located at the Lower Level of the Donovan Dining Center or Gaige Hall, Lower Level, B9.
To get started with us, you'll meet with an L4L project staff member. The purpose of the meeting is us together to talk about your strengths and challenges and to provide insight about how we can best assist you on your course to success.
