Lesley Bogad

Lesley Bogad is an Associate professor of Educational Studies at Rhode Island College. She received her undergraduate degree in English and Education from Barnard College at Columbia University, and her Master's and Ph.D. in Cultural Foundations of Education from Syracuse University. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in sociology of education, multiculturalism, qualitative research methods, and women's studies. Her research interests include youth culture, social justice, media literacy and the educational lives of girls. Lesley tries to work everyday to contribute to a more socially-just world, but sometimes she gets distracted by working in her garden, cooking interesting meals, surfing Craig's List, or watching The West Wing.

Rachel Carpenter

Rachel Carpenter holds a B.A. from the University of Rhode Island and an M.L.S. from State University of NY at Albany School of Information Science. She has been a reference librarian and member of the library faculty at Adams Library since 1984 and prior to that was a reference librarian at the Providence Public Library. Rachel has been coordinator of the library's government documents depository collection since 2003. She is currently the Library Liaison to the School of Nursing and the Communications Department.

Marlene Lopes

Marlene Lopes holds a B.S. from Connecticut College and an M.L.S. from Syracuse University. She is Special Collections Librarian and Associate Professor at the James P. Adams Library where she has responsibility for the various special collections as well as the College archives. Her current research interests include the history of Rhode Island College, particularly the role within it of women and people of color.
