Welcome to the Rhode Island College Recycling page. It is our committed to help the campus community recycle. We provide recycling containers and answer any questions you may have about recycling. Campus collection occurs on a weekly basis.Campus Recycling Facts:
- Over 130,000 lbs. of paper was recycled in 2007
- Over 6 tons of bottles and cans were recycled in 2007
- Over 2 tons of cardboard were recycled in 2007
What IS Recyclable?
| The following items should be placed in
the GREEN recycling bins which have been
distributed campus wide: All paper Magazines, Catalogs Shredded Paper Window Envelopes Newspaper Cereal boxes Tissue boxes Paper Towel Rolls |
The BLUE recycling bins should be used for
the following items (please empty all container before recycling): (All plastic containers with a #1 or #2 in the triangle on the bottom of container) Plastic Bottles Glass Bottles Aluminum Cans |
What is NOT Recyclable?
Please DO NOT put the following items in the recycling bins:Pizza boxes
Tissues
PROGRAM EXPANSION
The collection and recycling of corrugated cardboard is being expanded a building at a time. Building occupants will be notified when their building is put on line.
