Program Goals
Graduates of the B.A. in Youth Development will:
- Understand key elements* of a Youth Development perspective, helping youth to develop:
- Competence
- Confidence
- Connections
- Caring
- Critical thinking and social justice
- Develop strategies for working with youth, adults, family and community.
- Design youth-centered curricula and programs.
- Construct environments that promote health, safety, and wellness.
- Maintain reflective approaches to professional growth and leadership.
- Understand current trends, challenges, and critical issues in serving diverse youth populations.
